Some saints are officially declared being in God’s presence – which is the official canonization process however, as an RCIA teacher once told my husband, there are millions of saints in Heaven whose names we simply do not know. To be a saint simply requires one to join God in Heaven, and live with Him eternally. And, I am looking forward to seeing if the Catholic Church will begin its steps toward canonization for such an inspirational evangelist. I could not think of a more fitting date for her to join her love. It also did not escape my notice that she died on Easter Sunday – the same day the love of her life, Jesus Christ, rose from the dead. The news was not completely a surprise, as various networks of Catholic news sources had recently been reporting about how ill she had been for the past decade or so. “You may be the only Jesus that your neighbor will ever see.As I was headed to bed last night, I saw news that Mother Angelica, the instrumental voice of wit, wisdom, and Catholic explanation had passed away yesterday morning. “So let’s make up our minds: Today I shall be a saint.” He is the Light of our lives and the source of our being.” “We cannot turn God on and off like a light bulb. “In the Gospel, there’s an answer to everything.” “Sometimes we ask God for things, and we seem to get the exact opposite. “A Christian has one goal in mind: What does God want me to do?” “I thought today, ‘What would Our Lady do in my place?’ How did she contemplate the Lord in the midst of her activities?” ![]() And you must see God in all things, realizing that he transcends them all.” ![]() You have to have zest for life but a desire for heaven. “You have to enjoy life without resting in it. “To trust that everything that happens to us is for our good is hope.” ![]() “It is because Jesus suffered and we unite our pain to his that suffering changes and transforms us.”
